Love, love, love the hula ohana and Kumu Kahea. We left the halau due to relocating and joined another halau but it wasn't the same and my daughter missed everyone at the halau so we drive an hour so she can take her hula lessons with Kumu Kahea. She is very patient with the girls but firm.

I feel so welcomed even though I've been Zooming into the classes from England. Kumu Kahea is a wonderful Hula teacher with lots of experience and knowledge-- she never fails to give personalised comments from her observations-- even on Zoom! As an adult beginner with some prior experience, being part of this hālau for the past 1.5 year has helped me improve my Hula skills and learn more about Hawaiian culture. Hope I can visit the hālau in person some day!

My daughter has been a member of this halau for a couple years now and she loves it. It's not just a dance studio - it's a nurturing space where members are immersed in Hawaiian culture. Not only do they learn the dance movements, they're taught the history, language and traditions of Hawaii. Kumu Kahea and her kokua are amazing with the kids.
They've also just moved into a great new space in the Nijiya plaza.

I love being part of the Hālau! I appreciated how welcomed I felt as an adult beginner and how accessible the classes are as they have been available to take on zoom as well as recorded so that I could go back and watch if I had to miss a class. The classes are gently challenging physically and just as much time is spent devoted to learning Hawaiian language and culture as learning the hulas! Kumu hula Kahea is very patient and precise. She's always willing to modify movements for students at different skill-levels, so I never felt bad for not getting a movement!

Absolutely LOVE this amazing dance studio! The instructors are loving, patient, kind, & extremely knowledgeable about hula & the Hawaiian culture. My daughter loves learning the beautiful & graceful hula dance and enjoys learning about the Hawaiian culture, language, customs, & protocols.

My daughters enjoy being a part of the Hālau! One daughter is busy with being on a competitive gymnastics team but still wants to attend her hula class. My youngest enjoys the class and has grown more confidence with how nurturing the teacher and helpers are with their students. We have been a part of the Hālau for a few years now, and the girls have learned so much of the culture. We definitely recommend this Hālau.

My daughter has been dancing here for a few years now and I just joined myself. Fun and educational. Covers Hawaiian language and culture as well.

Excellent instruction from a master hula kumu (teacher). Kumu Kahea has decades of dance and teaching experience and is very kind and patient yet very detailed in her instruction. Great for beginners or advanced. She also teaches Hawaiian history and culture and her Halau and her students are filled with the Aloha spirit. Recommended!
